The II Edition of the “Jaime Fernández de Araoz Corporate Finance” Award – the only one of its kind in Spain – has recognised the growing relevance of the link between executive salaries and increasing international competition. This is how the Jury saw it by giving the Award to the paper “Globalisation and the provision of incentives within the company: the effect of international competition”, by María Guadalupe and Vicente Cuñat, professors of finance at Columbia Business School and Pompeu Fabra University, respectively.
