The winning authors of the VI Edition of the “Jaime Fernández Araoz Corporate Finance” Award were:

  • Samuel Bentolila
    Degree in Economics, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and PhD in Economics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Since 1988, he lectures as a Professor of Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI). He is currently Chairman and Fellow of the Spanish Economic Association. He is a Fellow of the European Economic Association and Associate Researcher at Centre for Economic Policy Research (London) and CESifo (Munich). His works have been published in Review of Economic Studies, Economic Journal, European Economic Review and Journal of Population Economics.

  • Marcel Jansen
    Of Dutch nationality, PhD in Economics from European University Institute of Florence and an expert in macroeconomics and labour economics. He lectures as an Associate Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and is a FEDEA researcher. His works have beeen published in Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Labour Economics and Scandinavian Journal of Economics. He has worked as a consultant for the World Bank, OECD, European Commission and the Inter-American Development Bank. He is currently coordinating the “New Skills at Work in Spain” project.

  • Gabriel Jiménez Zambrano
    Degree in Mathematics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, completing post-graduate studies in Economics at Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI). He has been working as an economist since 2001 at the Bank of Spain as unit manager, in the Financial Stability Department, further to his research career. His articles have been published in Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Financial Studies.

  • Sonia Ruano Pardo
    Degree in Economics, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, completing post-graduate studies in Economics at Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI). PhD in Economics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has worked as a researcher in the Economic Research Programme of Fundación Empresa Pública and has lectured at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Since 2001, she works as an economist for the Bank of Spain, General Management of Financial Stability and Resolution. He works have been published in the Journal of International Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, International Journal of Central Banking and Journal of Financial Intermediation.
